Azer has been providing dancefloors, car stereos and iPods with the best in new and classic grooves for many years now. His selections are best described as eclectically soulful; he makes his pick from a broad range of musical styles from hiphop, funk and soul to the best in electronic music. Azer’s mixtapes and livesets have earned him a variety of guest spots on radio shows such as LDBK Radio, Beyondjazz and StuBru’s Lefto Show (formerly known as The Hop). Mixes like Plastix I & II were downloaded over 3000 times in two weeks due to dozens of praising reviews on a variety of blogs (such as Nalden and Moovmnt) and social network sites. Currently, Azer is resident dj at the infamous All Eyes On Hip Hop parties in Ghent and playing dj-sets all over the country and recently also in France & London. He has done support sets for artists such as Aloe Blacc, Talib Kweli, Floating Points, Hudson Mohawke, Kutmah, Tokimonsta, The Opposites.
There are many reasons why this guy is the resident DJ of All Eyes On Hip Hop. Apart from the fact that he is a good friend, he’s also a master in mixing the right tracks and creating the perfect party vibe! Come early, you don’t want to miss his set!
DJ Lamont is a legend in the belgian hip hop scene. He is known for his intricate DJ battle sets created in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, he won many national and international DJ titles.
Lamont produced 10 volumes of DJ tools that were sold the world over. These records were used by many (World) champion DJ’s.
He has been touring all over the globe, playing across Europe, China, Malaysia and the United States as a band member, as an opening act and as the main act at major international music festivals.
In 2002 he was invited by DJ Grazzhoppa to join his project DJ Grazzhoppa’s DJ Big Band, this highly project took 12 dj’s straight across Europe.
He even joined the Rodec R&D Department together with DJ Grazzhoppa in 2005 – 2006 to help them design the high-end dj scratch mixer, The Rodec Scratchbox.
Lamont continues to innovate today by using Ableton Live as a loop recorder/ drum machine in combination with turntables and several midi controllers and audio effects.
This skilled & imaginative DJ, prolific music producer and equally gifted visual artist has been acclaimed internationally close to two decades, yet somehow remains one of our culture’s best-kept secrets. Over the course of his career he’s worked with renowned recording artists such as Mos Def & Talib Kweli (Blackstar), Jill Scott, De La Soul, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Jem, Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Pharoahe Monch, Vinia Mojica, Bahamadia, Tupac Shukur and the list goes on, as well as providing remixes for J-Dilla & Platinum Pied Pipers, Pete Rock & Grand Agent, and many others.
As a DJ, he’s traveled extensively…playing everywhere from boat parties in France, Sweden and the US, to an impressive list of clubs located in some of the world’s most popular, as well as, overlooked destinations. He’s rocked dance floors in London, Paris, Lyon, Berlin, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Oslo, Tromso, Vienna, Budapest, Reykjavik, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Toronto, Montreal, and many other cities, towns and provinces across the globe. He’s known for taking crowds on musical journeys that encompass a range of heavy rhythmic tunes that interconnect genres and inspires art on the dance floor.
Currently, he can be found each month at both of his New York City residencies, “LIFE ON MARS” at The subMercer and “I LOVE VINYL” at Le Poisson Rouge.
